Can continuous glucose monitoring be used as a new tool for diagnosing white coat hyperglycaemia and possibly some other entities?

چکیده
Introduction. Since 1999 continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) has been used to measure the amount of in interstitial fluid. CGM is crucial when it comes developing ambulatory profile and giving information on time spent range (TIR), percentage above below range, as well variability. Discussion. It was 1992 that Campbell et al. first described white coat hyperglycaemia, who explained patients having elevated blood levels a clinician's office or laboratory normal obtained by self-monitoring. Prior introduction CGM, hyperglycaemia discrepancy self-monitoring (SMBG). Nowadays, may be said patient they have SMBG TIR 70% CGM. Recognising importance for treatment its intensification based glycaemia alone can lead episodes hypoglycaemia potentially lethal outcome. Should comparison made with arterial hypertension pressure (ABPM), provide several other options: 1) masked hyperglycaemia; 2) isolated nocturnal hyperglycaemia. Conclusion. seems logical diagnosing possibly some (new) entities. Nonetheless, clinical significance all these entities only discussed after conducting adequately designed randomised trials, which we would strongly encourage.

Can Evolutionary-based Brain Map Be Used as a Complementary Diagnostic Tool with fMRI, CT and PET for Schizophrenic Patients?
Objective: In this research, a new approach termed as “evolutionary-based brain map†is presented as a diagnostic tool to classify schizophrenic and control subjects by distinguishing their electroencephalogram (EEG) features. Methods: Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is employed to find discriminative frequency bands from different EEG channels. By deploying the energy of those selected fr...
متن کاملCan Prostate Specific Antigen Be Used as New Biomarker for Early Diagnosis of Breast Cancer?
Introduction: As a glycoprotein, Plasma Prostate-Specific Antigen (PSA) is mainly produced by prostate epithelial cells and is used as a major diagnostic tool for prostate cancer. A group of researchers relate the elevated number of estrogen receptors in breast cancer samples to the over-production of PSA in this type of cancer. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the participants' ...
متن کاملCan the Gram's stain be used as a diagnostic tool?
The Gram's stain technique was never intended for use as a diagnostic tool. This technique does not possess the characteristics necessary to yield such specific results. However, there is.no doubt that the Gram's stain is a useful technique to distinguish the morphology of bacteria. It is also of significant use, to a degree, in distinguishing two major groups of bacteria, the gram-positive and...

متن کاملTenacity and some other Parameters of Interval Graphs can be computed in polynomial time
In general, computation of graph vulnerability parameters is NP-complete. In past, some algorithms were introduced to prove that computation of toughness, scattering number, integrity and weighted integrity parameters of interval graphs are polynomial. In this paper, two different vulnerability parameters of graphs, tenacity and rupture degree are defined. In general, computing the tenacity o...
